e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) is a process of digitally verifying a customer’s or user’s identity using electronic technology. The goal is to ensure the authenticity of a person’s data and identity without the need for a face-to-face process.
What is a NIK?
The NIK, or Population Identification Number, is a unique, single, and unique identification number assigned to an individual registered as an Indonesian resident.
What is meant by a Decree?

Who is a corporately affiliated person?
A corporately affiliated person is a user registered with a company.
What is the use of the Document Template feature?
You can use a document template when a template file has a specific format that is used for a group of documents or a specific document.
If I want to sign multiple documents at once, do I need to repeat the same steps over and over again?
With the Bulk Sign feature, you can sign multiple documents in one go.
What is the “Ask From Others” feature?
The “Ask From Others” feature is a feature you can use if you simply want to request a signature from another party without actually signing the document yourself.
What’s the difference between the Parallel Sign feature and the Hierarchy feature?
The difference between Hierarchy Sign and Parallel Sign lies in the order of the signers. Using the Hierarchy Sign feature, you can specify the order of the signers.
What is the use of the Parallel Sign feature?
Parallel Sign is a feature used to sign a document by more than one person in any particular order (not hierarchically).
What can I do with the Single Sign feature?
Single sign is a feature that allows you to sign a single signature on a document without involving any other parties.
What documents do corporate representatives need to prepare when registering for a corporate account?
Corporate representatives must prepare the Company’s Deed of Establishment, a Decree from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) and Business Identification Number (NIB), and an active Sysadmin email address.
What documents are required to register for a retail account?
To register for a retail account, you only need to provide a photo of your ID card, an email address, and a valid phone number.
I forgot my password, what should I do?
1. Click “Forgot Password.”
2. Enter your email address, then click “Reset Password.”
3. Check your email and click “Reset Password.”
4. Enter your new password, then click “Reset Password.”
5. After successfully changing your password, you can try logging in again.
What if I forget the email account I registered?

What should I do if I experience login failure?
Make sure the email address and password you entered are correct. If you experience three failed login attempts, your account will be locked. You can try again after three minutes.
What if I don’t receive the OTP code?
You need to ensure your network is stable and/or the phone number you entered is correct. If you’re still having trouble, you can contact our team at helpdesk@esign.id with an explanation of the situation and the email address you used to register.
What should I do if I don’t receive a verification email?
If you don’t receive a verification email, first ensure your internet connection is stable, then check your inbox or spam folder. If you still can’t find the email, you can re-register.
What if I consistently fail the e-KYC process?
Make sure your internet connection is stable and that you are not wearing any accessories such as glasses, hats, or masks. If you experience failure after three attempts at the e-KYC test, please contact us via email at helpdesk@ezsign.id with your email address and a screenshot of the website.
How long is an electronic certificate valid?
EzSign electronic certificates are valid for one year and can be renewed.
How many types of account certificates are available?
There are two types of account certificates available in ezSign:
- Personal Account Certificate
A certificate issued to an individual for the purpose of signing documents. - Corporate Account Certificate
A certificate assigned to users within an organization, used for document signing in their capacity as employees or designated roles.

How do I find my electronic certificate’s validity period?
You can view the electronic certificate’s validity period by:
1. Log in to your ezSign account
2. In the top right corner, click ‘My Profile’
3. In the ‘My Digital Certificate’ section.
4. Below the certificate serial number, you will see the validity period of your electronic certificate.

What happens if my electronic certificate is revoked or is in the grace period?
While your certificate is in the grace period or has expired, you will not be able to use ezSign services.
How do I find my electronic certificate serial number?
You can view your electronic certificate serial number by:
1. Log in to your ezSign account
2. In the top right corner, click ‘My Profile’
3. In the ‘My Digital Certificate’ section, you can see your account certificate serial number.
How do I change my registered email address?
The registered email address cannot be changed, so please ensure the email address you entered is correct during registration.
How do I change the phone number registered in the ezSign app?
To change the phone number you registered in the ezSign app, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your ezSign account.
2. Select the “My Account” menu.
3. At the bottom of your profile, find your registered phone number; click the edit icon.
4. Enter your new phone number, OTP code, and password.
5. Click “update.”
How do I rekey a certificate before it expires?
To do this:
1. Log in to your ezSign account.
2. Select the settings menu, then click “Profile.”
3. Click “Re-Key.”
4. The RA will send the user a re-key request form.
5. Fill in the request form and electronically sign it with the certificate to be re-keyed.
6. Await approval from the RA e-Sign Administrator.
7. If the application data has been successfully validated, make the payment.
8. After successful payment, the certificate will be automatically reactivated.
9. The user will receive a notification that the certificate has been reactivated.
How do I reactivate an expired electronic certificate?
An expired certificate is no longer valid. Re-registration is required to reactivate the expired electronic certificate. Here are the steps:
1. Log in to your ezSign account.
2. Select the settings menu, then click “Profile.”
3. Click ‘Re-Register’.
4. Complete the e-KYC process.
5. Await approval from the ezSign RA team.
6. Once the application data has been successfully validated, proceed with the payment process.
7. Once payment is successful, the certificate will be automatically reactivated.
How do I deactivate an electronic certificate (Certificate Revoke) for a user from an authorized party?
Here are the procedures for requesting an ezSign certificate revoke from an authorized party:
1. The applicant submits a certificate revoke request via email, including an Authorized Representative Assignment Letter and/or Power of Attorney (signed by the user using an electronic signature). If attaching a power of attorney from the user, the power of attorney must be electronically signed using an electronic certificate.
2. The ezSign RA team will verify and authenticate the submitted application data.
3. Once verified, the RA team will revoke the certificate (revoke) for the requested electronic certificate.
4. The certificate owner will receive an email notification that the certificate has been successfully revoked.
How do I deactivate an electronic certificate (Revoke a Certificate)?
Here’s how to request an ezSign certificate revoke:
1. Submit a certificate revoke request via email to helpdesk@esign.id and provide the email address and phone number used to register for the ezSign account.
2. The user will receive a revoke request form from the RA.
3. Complete the application form and sign it using the electronic certificate you wish to revoke.
4. The RA administrator will verify and verify the applicant’s data.
5. If the data is correct, the RA team will revoke the applicant’s certificate.
6. The user will receive an email notification that the certificate has been successfully revoked.
How long does the ezSign account verification process take?
The ezSign RA team will conduct the account verification process within a maximum of 24 hours.
How do I check the validity of my electronic documents?
There are several ways to verify electronic documents:
1. Visit the official KOMINFO website at https://tte.kominfo.go.id/verifyPDF and upload the document you want to verify.
2. You can use a document reader such as Adobe Reader (like the one found in manuals).
What happens if a signed document is deleted from ezSign?
ezSign prioritizes user data privacy, which means our team cannot access your documents. As a result, once a document is deleted, it cannot be restored.
What security systems does ezSign use?
The security systems used by ezSign include:
OTP, which functions as a two-factor authentication method to identify and authenticate the signer.
SHA-256, which functions as document authentication.
RSA-2048 bytes, which are used to verify digital signatures and generate key pairs.

Are digital signatures using ezSign secure?
Electronic signatures using the ezSign application are guaranteed secure because:
ezSign electronic signatures use encryption that utilizes asymmetric cryptography technology, making your signature extremely difficult to forge.
Your electronic documents are sent directly without going through a third party, eliminating the risk of information leakage.
What are ezSign’s information security standards?
ezSign uses an internationally recognized information security management system with ISO 27001 certification, ensuring data security both technically, organizationally, and operationally.
Is ezSign regulated under applicable laws?
Yes. ezSign is an Electronic Certification Service Provider (PSrE) operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia (KOMINFO).
How do I perform Bulk Signing?
- Ensure you have created a Template in the ezSign menu first.
- Select the Bulk Sign menu.
- Click ‘Create Document’.
- Upload the documents in .zip format.
- Select the relevant template.
- Enter your password.
- Request an OTP code (sent via SMS or email).
- Enter the OTP and click ‘Sign’.
How do I use the Template feature?
- Select the Template menu.
- Click ‘Create New Template’.
- Name the template.
- Set the signature specimen placement and click ‘Save’.
How do I top up the balance for a corporate account?
- Log in to the Sysadmin account and go to the ‘Services’ menu.
- Select ‘Top Up’.
- Specify the quota amount.
- Select a payment method and click ‘Create Order’.
- Complete the payment (maximum 1×24 hours).
How long is the activation process for an ezSign corporate account?
The ezSign RA Team will process the activation within 1×24 hours.
What is required to authenticate the identity of employees registered through a corporate account?
- Photo of the user’s Identity Card (KTP).
- Active phone number.
- Email address registered under the company domain.
How does a Corporate Sysadmin deactivate a user’s electronic certificate?
- The Sysadmin submits a revocation request for an affiliated personal user to the RA Team, including:
- An official document/letter stating the employee is no longer working for or affiliated with the entity (must be signed electronically via ezSign).
- The document must include the email address of the affiliated person.
- The RA Team verifies the documents.

How do I deactivate electronic certificates for users from Authorized Bodies?

- Once verified, the RA Team revokes the specified electronic certificate.

How do I deactivate/revoke a Corporate User account?
- The applicant submits a revoke request via email to the Helpdesk, CC-ing the Corporate Sysadmin, stating the reason for revocation.
- The RA Team responds with a Certificate Revocation Form, CC-ing the Sysadmin.
- The applicant fills out and signs the form using the electronic certificate that is to be revoked.
- The RA Team verifies the applicant’s data.
- If valid, the RA Team revokes the user certificate.
- The Corporate Sysadmin receives a notification email once the process is successful.
How do I obtain a corporate certificate?
Follow these steps:
- Log In to the ezSign retail account previously created by the corporate representative.
- Go to Settings -> Profile -> click Add Corporate.
- Complete the company’s bio-data and upload all supporting documents.
- The ezSign Registration Authority (RA) Team will verify the application and documents.
- The Corporate Sysadmin will receive a verification email if the data is correct.
- The Corporate Sysadmin performs self-verification via e-KYC.
- Once verified, the Sysadmin selects a service package and completes the payment.
- After successful payment, the Corporate Electronic Certificate will be issued automatically.
Who is authorized to register a corporate account in the ezSign application?
The company representative authorized to register the company is the individual whose name is officially listed in the Deed of Establishment.
What documents are required to register for an ezSign corporate account?
To register for an ezSign corporate account, you will need to prepare the following documents:
- Deed of Establishment of the Company
- Approval Decree from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham)
- Tax Identification Number (NPWP) and Business Identification Number (NIB)
- Corporate System Administrator (SysAdmin) email address
